Though they’ve already been well documented (heck, they’re already on sale in some parts of the world), Nokia’s just now getting around to making its foursome of Supernovas official. The new line reps mid-range fashion (think L’Amour, but not over the top) and comes in your choice of two candybars, a flip, or a slider as the 7210, 7310, 7510, or 7610, respectively. The 7210 features a tri-band GSM radio plus EDGE, a 2 megapixel camera, and an FM radio.

look for it to launch in the third quarter for €120 (about $189). The 7310 apes the 7210’s look but adds support for changeable Xpress-On faceplates, TV-out, and support for GSM 850, and while all that extra kit adds €35 (about $55) to the price over the lesser model, it’s available now. The 7510 goes for the flip form factor but carries over most of the 7310’s spec sheet, waiting it out until the fourth quarter for a €180 (about $283) launch in scary colors like “Fatal Red”. Finally, the 7610 (no, not that one) moves up to a beefier 3.2 megapixel camera and hits next quarter for €225 (about $354).

If there’s one thing Motorola knows how to do, it knows how to make rugged push-to-talk phones. With eons of iDEN experience under its belt, it’s hard to argue Moto doesn’t have the right stuff in that department.

As iDEN makes room in the PTT limelight for EV-DO-based systems, it was starting to look like the durability of the devices was going to take a hit in favor of fashion, but the V750 looks ready to buck the trend. Previous press shots we saw didn’t really do a very good job of conveying the upcoming Verizon device’s rugged nature, but from freshly leaked promo materials, we see that it’ll meet military specifications for shock, vibration, sun exposure, temperature, altitude, and dust. That’s quite a list, and it’s a big ol’ heap of peace of mind for a good many Nextel customers planning on making the leap.

Remember that U800 we peeked in the middle of last month? Turns out, that very mobile is the one pictured above, though it now has an official moniker to round things off. In an attempt to migrate the Spirit of Soul (Samsung’s words, not ours) to the candybar design, the Soulb was born.

The handset checks in at 9.9-millimeters thick and features a 3-megapixel camera (with Power LED flash), document viewer / editor, web browser, multimedia player, Bluetooth 2.0, FM radio (with RDS support), 1GB of internal memory and a microSD slot just in case. It’s also noted that the Soulb will be available in Soul Grey, Platinum Silver, Metallic Black, Soul Pink and Amethyst Violet for an undisclosed price, but things aren’t looking too swell for North Americans. Germans will get first dibs when it lands in “early June,” while just about every region save for NA gets it shortly thereafter.

Yup, you read that right. We’re not talking about just any Webkit-based browser, Samsung’s long-rumored L870 slider features Apple’s Webkit-based, Mobile Safari browser.

A first outside of the iPhone. The 13.5-mm thin phone pumps Symbian v9.3 and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 at its core with a 3 megapixel camera, 2.4-inch QVGA display, FM radio, Stereo Bluetooth, and microSD expansion. Unfortunately, this pup is tri-band GSM with single-band UMTS/HSDPA 3.6Mbps support so it’ll be heading to Europe around the August time frame.

It isn’t hard to see to perks to Apple’s “one size fits all” approach to software for the iPhone and iPod touch. After making N95-3 (the regular ol’ N95 for North America) users wait months to get the software updates of their European counterparts, it took ‘em another few days to get the N95-4 (the 8GB version for North America) up to snuff as well.

Of course, the N95 8GB already had a few of the software improvements, but this seems to pull it in line with the v20 firmware all the cool kids are rocking. Unfortunately it’s not all gravy, you’re going to have to do all the heavy lifting of backing up and re-installing your apps, and we’ve been having trouble getting the update to work at all on our particular 8GB — we’ll let you know how that goes. Still, the speed gains are (probably) worth all the hassle, so fire that sucker up and get updating!

The rumored 7310 classic is looking a little more legit now with another picture popping up on the interwebs independently of the first.

Just looking at the darned thing is making us feel a little droopy-eyed, but for what it’s worth, the Series 40 candybar with a QVGA display and rumored 3.2 megapixel cam is destined for Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, and South America according to its filing with the Bluetooth SIG — so you pretties up there in North America needn’t spend too much time worrying about it.

We’ll get into more detail later, but we thought it was appropriate to share the moment when the Japanese showed the world just how pathetic your 3G iPhone fantasies really are.

Announced today are 19 new handsets from NTT DoCoMo’s 906i and 706i series. All 8 of the 906i feature 3G / GSM international roaming, GPS, HSDPA, 1-seg mobile TV, full browser with Flash 8 support, DCMX mobile credit card and iD mobile credit payment tech, VGA LCD screens, and voice to text translation of Chinese, English, and Japanese. Some even support direct transfer of Blu-ray video. The 11-strong 706i series features a variety of handsets including a waterproof 1-Seg phone, world’s slimmest 1-Seg phone, and a wellness phone to monitor your health and diet.
